Terroir

The term terroir is used to describe the environmental factors that influence a given crop – often used in connection to wine. Terroir describes how a region’s climate, soil type, terrain, and other geomorphic aspects affects the taste or character of the wine.

There is no specific definition to the word, and it is discussed whether farming practices is also a part of the terroir.
